When it comes to spas, we are simply spoiled for choice in Hong Kong. Flawless, however, might be a tad different from the rest of the spas in Hong Kong. Opened by Maximal Concepts (the guys behind Brickhouse, Play and Blue Butcher), this new space is more like a trendy hangout spot than the quiet, relaxing spas that we are used to!
With its whitewashed brick walls, large windows and sofas, this bright, airy spa resembles a stylish loft in Manhattan in New York, and exudes an effortlessly cool vibe which makes you want to stay and have a chat with your girl friends over a glass of champagne.
The spa has an outdoor terrace, complete with beautiful plants and comfy seating, which is a fabulous oasis in the middle of Central. In fact, this relaxing, casual decor has turned Flawless into an immensely popular venue for parties, corporate events and bachelorette parties!
Instead of providing a wide array of treatments, owners of Flawless believe that less is more, so focus is placed on three main areas: nails, facials and make-up. With its proximity to Lan Kwai Fong, I was told that the spa is frequented every weekend by ladies who come for a make-up touch up (and often a glass of bubbly) before heading out to their gatherings!
Fruit water, freshly made everyday with oranges, lemons, limes, strawberriers and mint leaves, is the most popular drink at the spa. It has a light and invigorating fruity scent but doesn’t taste sweet at all, which makes it the perfect drink while you have your manicure! There is also a selection of teas available, and the Morroccan mint tea is my favourite.
The facials here aren’t particularly cheap, but fortunately the manicure prices are pretty competitive! I had a manicure + hydration intention ($380) treatment, and there are also promotions for the other manicures. This treatment includes a warm, aromatic hand soak, a sugar scrub and a warm paraffin hand treatment. I also got a short but lovely hand massage from my therapist!
I normally get Shellac manicures for my nails, but I can’t paint my nails these few weeks because of a barista course I am taking, so I don’t know if their gel or Shellac manicures are any good. I did, however, leave the spa with a pair of thoroughly moisturized, nicely scrubbed hands! You can check out their website for the range of treatments available; they do have some very interesting party packages, just in case you have any parties coming up!
