D and I haven’t caught up in a while and we booked a dinner at 298 Nikuya Room, a trusted yakiniku restaurant that we love going to. A sister restaurant of 298 Nikuya Kitchen in Tsim Sha Tsui, 298 Nikuya Room is known for their premium beef directly imported from Kagoshima province in Japan. Apart from Japanese item, the menu also offers a number of enticing Korean dishes.

(1) We start off with a A5 Wagyu tataki ($220), which is beautifully seared on the outside and tender on the inside. The citrus dressing brings all the flavours together.

(2) We order a portion of round yakishabu ($200), which bursts with beautiful meaty flavours once grilled.

(3) There are a few types of kalbi to choose from, and we go for the prime kalbi ($170), which is moderately fatty, nicely marbled, and tastes completely decent.

(4) Apart from beef, we also order some marinated chicken thigh ($85), which is quite lean, yet still tender and juicy. Definitely something to order if you are looking for something lighter.

There are also a number of delicious salads, soups, and rice dishes on the menu. We are very satisfied with our meal and hope it can keep up this standard!
